Busy Butterflies

Fourteen to 23 months is a vital stage in the learning process when toddlers begin noticing the world around them. We capitalize on this curiosity by teaching them to explore their surrounding through touch.

Basic language skills are begun at this time as well by reading to them daily, repeating familiar words and introducing new words. Primary colors and basic shapes are also introduced to them at this time.

Fundamental instruction is also provided on how to use eating utensils, gradually weaning the children from eating with their fingers and drinking from sipping cups to how to eat at a family style dinner setting. Another important objective is potty training. These lessons are reinforced throughout the day, having every child successfully trained before being transitioned to the 2-year-old classroom.
